Source: Carmelo Anthony Will Terminate Knicks Contract Early and Test Free Agency

As planned, All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony will file notice with the New York Knicks on Monday that he plans to exercise the early termination option on his contract and become a free agent on July 1, a league source told Yahoo Sports. Anthony is determined to explore free agency and will closely examine opportunities with the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets, league sources said. New York can offer Anthony, 30, the most money and security — a five-year, $125 million-plus contract — but he’s intrigued with the chance to join an immediate contender in Chicago and Houston, league sources said.

U.S. Soccer Star Hope Solo Arrested in Assault on Sister, Nephew

By Jimmy Lovaas SEATTLE (Reuters) - Hope Solo, goalkeeper for the U.S. women’s soccer team, was arrested early on Saturday morning for striking her sister and a teenage nephew during a dispute at her home in a Seattle suburb, police said. Police who responded to a 911 call at Solo’s house in Kirkland a little after midnight could hear noise from the “disturbance” from the street, according to a police statement. Solo, 32, appeared intoxicated and upset, police said, and her 17-year-old nephew and adult sister were visibly injured.

DeSean Jackson is a cry-baby and a loser … who can’t accept the fact he lost a legal war with his ex-agent … so says that ex-agent Drew Rosenhaus who’s blasting the WR in new legal docs. TMZ Sports broke the story … Jackson filed court docs against Rosenhaus earlier this month hoping to overturn an arbitration ruling in which DeSean was ordered to pay Rosenhaus more than $500k in unpaid loans, fees and penalties. In the docs, Jackson argued the arbitrator’s ruling should be rendered invalid because the arbitrator had a bias in favor of Rosenhaus … and therefore, he shouldn’t have to fork over a single cent.
